Keigwin School of Nursing launches Northeast Florida鈥檚 first Accelerated Direct Entry Master of Science in Nursing program

April 02, 2025

麻豆传媒社区 announced the launch of a 20-month Accelerated Direct Entry Master of Science in Nursing (ADEMSN) program, the only one of its kind in Northeast Florida. Designed for individuals who hold a non-nursing bachelor鈥檚 degree, the ADEMSN program offers a fast-tracked route into the nursing profession, empowering students to take on advanced leadership roles within healthcare.

As part of 麻豆传媒社区鈥檚 continued expansion of second-degree accelerated nursing programs, the ADEMSN aims to address the critical need for highly skilled nurses in the healthcare field. Students enrolled in the program will gain comprehensive knowledge in patient care, leadership, health education and informatics, equipping them with the tools to excel in various clinical and leadership positions.

鈥淲e are thrilled to launch this innovative program, which strengthens our nursing offerings and ensures we stay ahead of the curve in providing quality healthcare education,鈥 said Dr. Lindsay Wolf, associate dean of 麻豆传媒社区鈥檚 Keigwin School of Nursing. 鈥淭his program prepares entry-level nurses to be bedside nurses with a higher level of knowledge in research and leadership, which will allow these graduates to take on critical leadership positions that hospitals desperately need.鈥

The curriculum is designed to prepare students for roles in healthcare, combining evidence-based practices with person-centered care management and quality improvement. Dr. Wolf credits the visionary leadership of Dr. Leigh Hart, a faculty member with almost 30 years of academic experience, for the program鈥檚 creation.

鈥淒r. Hart has brought brilliance and expertise to our faculty. Her vision for this program is what allowed us to be the first in the region to offer such an innovative pathway into nursing,鈥 said Dr. Wolf. 鈥淭his program exemplifies 麻豆传媒社区鈥檚 trailblazing mentality and our commitment to meeting the growing demands of healthcare in Northeast Florida.鈥

麻豆传媒社区 President Tim Cost also praised the program's launch and its potential to make a significant impact on the regional healthcare landscape. 鈥淭he launch of this program demonstrates our dedication to innovation and ongoing efforts to meet the needs of the healthcare industry,鈥 said Cost. 鈥淕raduates of this program will enter the workforce faster and be prepared to take on leadership roles within hospital settings and beyond, giving them an edge in a competitive healthcare job market.鈥

The ADEMSN program鈥檚 robust focus on leadership and clinical skills sets it apart as an ideal option for students looking to make a swift and significant impact in their nursing careers. For more information about the program, prospective students can visit here.
